DESCRIPTION: APW - South Bend, Grade 295 (marked), 21J, 16S, gold-plated OF recase, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, sunburst pattern nickel damascene, s#470250. An uncommon and very attractive top grade watch; the Grade 295 and its hunting case equivalent the Grade 294 were South Bend's finest quality early 16 size products. The total production of the Grade 295 was 1500 made which includes 500 examples that were marked "Polaris."
CONDITION: Mvt: Running after a twist to start, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with few scattered very faint hls; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, some scattered scratches, dings and nicks, fine engraving detail to rear is substantially reduced and only remains very faintly visible, ring of wear to brass to rear shoulder; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
